Flashback to one of my favorite winter weddings!! Brenna and Greg got married on a cold but sunny winter day in January. This couple is extremely special to me because my sister, Taylor, has been close friends with the bride, Brenna, ever since the 5th grade. In many ways I have watched them both grow-up and have also grown up with them! So to see Brenna get married to a outstanding guy like Greg, it’s really very special for me. Woohoo to the happy couple!
Brenna and Greg’s love story started with an introduction through friends by accident. Brenna was with friends at a Southie eatery while Greg came running by (he was training for Ranger Camp) and knew the ladies she was having brunch with. They instantly hit it off and thought one another was cute. It wasn’t until a few months later that they connected and began a friendly relationship; connecting and chatting through facebook and skype while Greg was deployed.
I loved the story Brenna shared with me about how she knew Greg was the one for her – “One night, we had gone out in the city and for no reason at all, I made the cab stop a few blocks before my apartment. As soon as we got out, the skies opened and it began to pour! We were instantly soaked. He laughed so hard and we ran towards my apartment and I remember thinking that he really gets a kick out of life and that I loved that about him.”
Their wedding was beautiful and it was an honor to be there to capture their memories forever! It’s really wonderful to view the photos and relive this very special day again. Congrats to Brenna & Greg!
The fabulous Vendors (along with personal notes from the bride)
Venue: Black Swan Country Club
Church: Immaculate Conception Church, Newburyport Mass
Flowers: Anastasia’s Flowers on Main, Byfield Mass. We had a mix of calla lilies and winter greens. I wanted very understated arrangements and they did a wonderful job!
Hair: Maria Stathoulis of Chroma Hair Studio, Wakefield Ma. Maria cuts my hair regularly and she totally “gets it”. Knew exactly how styled my hair should be in regards to my dress and overall look. When we were struggling with securing my veil without changing my hairstyle, Maria did an on the spot craft and broke a barrette and turned it into an oversized hair pin instead! It was beautiful and the perfect solution!
Make up: Virginia Franklin
Music: Dan Sky – Dan was amazing! He did a great job reading the crowd and he sang during dinner which everyone really loved. One of my guests thought that he was lip synching – that’s how good he sounds!
Dress: Oleg Cassini purchased at Tulle Bridal in Andover. Since Greg is in the military I was able to participate in the Brides Across America Program that Heidi Janson, owner of Tulle Bridal, founded. I did not receive a free dress, but Heidi was so generous with a military discount
Seamstress/Tailor for dress: Deby Ryan of Deby’s Sewing Service in Georgetown, Mass. Deby was so wonderful to work with – I highly recommend her! My dress was very intricate and she was able to make major alterations to it (changed the neckline and dropped it over 5 sizes) while maintaining the beautiful design and style. She understood my concerns even when I couldn’t quite articulate them and made the slightest adjustments that had huge impact! Her studio was warm and inviting and made a nerve wracking process much more enjoyable!
Bridesmaid Dresses: Eliza J designer purchased through Nordstrom’s. They were all different patterns but similar styles and all metallic colors. I loved them all and it was wonderful to highlight such a unique group of women in their own style. I was so lucky to have such wonderful bridesmaids!
Tux: The groom and the groomsmen wore handsome charcoal suits by Ralph Lauren
Planner: Gina Dimopolous from Black Swan – she was so patient and accommodating. I felt like she really understood what mattered to me and was confident with her in the lead.
Transportation: Salter Transportation, Newburyport Mass – these guys were amazing! Two school buses – awesome customer service. Lee Lamkin made it a seamless process and I felt so confident.
